June 2023 Recap
Summer is here and so is the first monthly enews of the summer season.
You may think that now we are all moved into the new unit things may have calmed down at HG? Well, we’re here to tell you that this is certainly not the case, and it has been very much business as usual (which is code for very hectic around here)!
With team challenges, hotel renovations and much, much more on this month’s enews write up agenda, let’s not waste any more time and get straight into the edition.
Holiday Inn Express Newcastle
When it comes to the utilisation of architectural wrap, there isn’t anything that screams using this solution more than the hotel environment, and this project for Holiday Inn Newcastle is a fantastic example of why hotel wrapping is becoming a phenomenon in the interior refurbishment world.
Holiday Inn came to the HG team with the need of a refurb to their hotel rooms, with a particular focus on the desktops and wardrobes within each room. After an initial discussion, it was fairly apparent that the substrates within the hotel were structurally sound so there was no real need to replace them. Once we pitched the concept of wrapping, the hotel was completely sold and the fact wrapping would save the hotel thousands reaffirmed the decision to wrap.
The application itself went completely to plan too, with the accredited HG team completing the install with minimal fuss. A great added benefit for Holiday Inn was the lack of disruption the install had, due to the lack noise, mess and odours this solution offers.
Bullet Logistics
Same customer, new location for Team HG!.
The month of June saw us complete our very first tractor unit wrap at our new premises. This job was for Ponty based Bullet Logistics, a repeat customer that specialise in delivery and logistics.
The job itself was fairly straight forward for us as we used the same artwork as we usually do for their wraps apart from the additional requirement of wanting the wing mirrors wrapped in the union jack.
Completed with minimal fuss, the customer was very happy with results. Like many of our customers, Bullet are such a great company to work with and we look forward to working with them lots more in the future.
Brilliant Stages
It seems a little while since we’ve been talking about secret projects here at HG, but June was definitely one of those months where we have to be tight lipped.
We’ve been helping Brilliant Stages wrap some of the staging for 2 huge artists that are currently on tour. Although it’s gutting we can’t say who these are for, they are certainly projects we absolutely love working on and it’s always nice to see one of your favourite musicians up on stage performing on something you have worked on.
Full 3 Sixty
Cast your minds back to last year and you may recall us entering the UK Graphic Awards with a project we worked on for Full 3 Sixty, which involved wrapping one of their BT Immersive Classrooms in Wales (which we were finalists for). Well, following the success of that project, we have teamed up with Full 3 Sixty again to wrap one of their modular demo pods.
The project kicked off with Full 3 Sixty providing us with the designs and following this, we got to work with the site survey and our designer began to adjust the artwork to suit the sizes required. After a site survey was conducted, we provided Full 3 Sixty with a print sample, which was shortly signed off with a matt finish, we then got on with the application.
Prior to the commencing of the wrap, we had to remove the existing wrap before we applied 55 metres of wrap to the exterior. The job took 2 of our installers 2 days to complete, and this would have been sooner if it wasn’t for the torrential down pour courtesy of the typical British weather.
DIY Kitchens
DIY Kitchens are a firm favourite in the monthly enews and are a customer we very much cherish at HG.
We have done an array of services for DIY Kitchens thus far in our relationship, from the installation of signage to vehicle wrapping and for this project we are in the process of wrapping 15 new Renault Luton box vans. Working closely with DIY Kitchens graphic designer, we are making a slight change on what has been done previously on the rears of these vehicles. We’ve got to work setting up the artwork for print, producing and then wrapping.
We are currently 5 vehicles down with another 10 to go in July, so we will save you the big reveal till July’s edition!
Yorkshire 3 Peaks
The 3 peaks challenge! It’s not every Saturday you get up at 4am and set off with your work gang to do the Yorkshire 3 Peaks, but in the month of June we did just that.
The team went and were accompanied by close friend James and Kyles fiancé, Megan. Despite the 0 training we did, I think it’s safe to say we smashed it. To say we underestimated the challenge would be an understatement though with quotes like ‘it just will be a long walk’ being well and truly put to rest, with the team waking up very sore and stiff the next day and Laura said she couldn’t be paid to do it again ha-ha!
Nevertheless, the 3 peaks was completed signifying a huge achievement for the team, as they strolled past 70k steps and 24 miles in one day.
New signage
It’s coming up to 2 months in our new unit, but we’ve been that chocker block with work so much, we’ve been struggling to find any time at all to do our own signs. However, we have finally got some signage implemented at our new unit and we’re making some progress in other areas too with our internal marketing in production with banners, flags, key tags and the rest coming soon. The next thing to conquer will be our internal graphics!
Holiday Season
As touched upon already, summer is here and that also means holiday season is upon us too. Directors Gav and Nat (and little Harry) have jetted off abroad to soak up the sun with friends for a much-deserved break!
That brings us to the end of another edition of our monthly enews. The next edition will mark our first anniversary of the enews, so make sure you keep your eyes out for that one landing.
We hope you once again enjoyed the read. Want to make sure you keep up-to-date with all things HG? Please don’t hesitate to get in touch by emailing us at hello@teamhg.co.uk and we’ll make sure you don’t miss out.
