CoSTAR Live Lab at Production Park in Yorkshire, the UK’s largest creative R&D hub, received a bold architectural rebrand to match its innovative spirit. Led by the University of York and supported by UKRI and AHRC, the project aimed to signal a new era in immersive and multisensory technology. A full cladding wrap and custom signage were developed to reflect this future-facing ethos. The result is a high-impact façade that broadcasts creativity, collaboration, and leadership in the live entertainment space.
“This was about more than just vinyl and signage, this was about reflecting what CoSTAR stands for, cutting-edge creativity and innovation before anyone even steps inside.” said Gavin, Owner of HG Graphics.

Bespoke Design & Brand Integration
Collaborating closely with CoSTAR stakeholders, the design team used CAD modelling to translate the lab’s forward-thinking vision into architecture. Each detail from iconography to finishes, was tailored to strict brand standards and the building’s form.
High-Precision Fabrication
The 85-meter satin laminated wrap was fabricated with premium materials for durability and sleekness. Built-up, rimless, face-lit letters and a custom icon mirrored the CoSTAR logo, with finishes precisely tuned to the brand palette.
Seamless Execution
Executed with minimal site disruption, the upgrade included the safe removal of existing elements and precision installation of new features. Magenta-faced lettering and laser-cut acrylic accents added vibrancy and depth to the final design.

The Results
The finished look is exactly what CoSTAR Live Lab set out to achieve. A professional, high-impact frontage that signals innovation, creativity, and collaboration. The combination of wrap and signage completely lifted the appearance of the building, giving it a modern identity that reflects the future-facing work going on inside.
“This is what we do best,” said Gavin. “Big ideas, brought to life with careful planning and proper execution. And the end result speaks for itself.”
From concept to completion, the CoSTAR project highlights what’s possible when creative design meets technical expertise and how much brand presence can be amplified with the right visual treatment.
