A few months ago, Team HG was involved in a very ‘different’ project for 38 Degrees, who are a British not-for-profit political-activism organisation in the UK.
This was the second time the HG team had worked with the 38 Degrees team having previously worked on a project in the midst of call for PM Boris Johnson to resign, where they required a removal van to be wrapped which would then be parked outside parliament.
Following the success of the first job HG did, 38 Degrees once again sought out the services of Team HG to help them with a brand-new campaign which again was focused around the PM position.
The Project
In terms of this particular campaign, it was all around the election of a new PM following the resignation of Boris Johnson, with the campaign really focusing on the need for candidates Liz Truss and Rishi Sunak to put more investment into our beloved NHS, and fixing the big issue of NHS backlogs.
‘’This project really was a challenging one for our team, as time was not something we had a lot of. In fact, the turnaround needed to be mega with only three days to complete the whole job. 38 Degrees provided us with a detailed brief, and we got to work, with the job involving getting the artwork signed off, measuring a decommissioned ambulance and wrapping the sides and part of the front in the campaign wrap, with immaculate precession.’’ Said Gavin, Owner of HG Graphics.
What was delivered?
Gavin continued ‘’Despite the tight turnaround for this project, we managed to get this job completed well in time for our clients, which was brilliant. We measured, designed, printed and wrapped the van with a 2-day turnaround! With an install time of just 4 hours. The whole team really did rally together to ensure our client got what they wanted, and they were delighted with not only the service but the results too.’’
Although having tight deadlines isn’t the ideal, and is not how you want to operate generally, sometimes needs must, and this was definitely a case of this. When working with organisations like this you have to face the facts that the landscape is always changing, and you really need to be reactive to be able to cater for your clients needs. After all, relationships and having good, long-lasting relationships really is at the core of HG, and this job is more evidence that the team really is prepared to go that extra mile to get a job completed for their clients.

The Campaign
With regard to the campaign itself, once the van was picked up from our premisses, the ambulance van went onto a tour of Tory Leadership Hustings in the UK visiting the likes of Manchester, Birmingham and other major cities where the campaign was really driven home.
Another plus of 38 Degrees using HG for this project is that the short-term nature of the campaign was perfect for the products that were used. As mentioned, this campaign was short-term which meant that the print graphics were able to be completed on a much more cost-effective vinyl, a vinyl that has a 1-year life span and is great for short term marketing campaigns like this that is going on flat panels only. Further implications are that the customer also has the ability to remove the graphics (should they want to do so), and consequently return the vehicle to its original state.
