Just like that, we are in the month of May. Which can only mean one thing here at Team HG…. A look back at the month of April and see what we’ve been up to.
We reckon that the month of April 2023 has been one of our most epic months yet! With projects galore and the big move we teased last month taking further shape, it won’t be a month we forget in a hurry, that’s for sure.
Our team have even had time to have their own fun this month… more on that later!
Without any further ado, let’s get into in this month’s edition of the enews.
J Middleton and Sons
It wouldn’t be a Team HG monthly enews without completing some sort of vehicle wrap!!
In J Middleton and Sons, we have done just that.
The West Yorskshire removal company came to us in April wanting us to complete a part wrap on 2 of their Luton vans as well as completing some work on their Berlingo vehicle too. We got to work, and the vans were back out and ready for the road in no time.
Newsholme Developments
This job for Nesholme Developments is easily one of our favourite jobs of the month.
The task in hand was a full wrap of a Toyota Hi Lux, with the customer in question being very clear in their minds in regards of what they wanted. The artwork had already been supplied with a photo mock up, so we just had to lay it on the correct outline.
The job did get a little trickier from here though, as the customer needed a specific pantone colour, one which wouldn’t match any coloured wrapping film, so this was a job we had to completely print with a matt finish. Also, the vehicle had arrived to us with chevrons that had been on for some years, which took longer than we anticipated to remove, meaning prep work alone was a good day and a half!
Once the customer signed off the colours in person, we got to work printing and getting the vehicle wrapped, which took around 2 days, and it sure was worth it! The before and afters alone speak for themselves.
Bell Lane Garage
We were delighted to complete a job for industrial estate neighbours Bell Lane Garage this month. These guys are a company we have known for ages and have been taking our company and personal vehicles to them for a few years now, so we jumped at the chance to help when they reached out asking for a design and part wrap on their company cars.
We completely designed this one in-house, with their only clear ‘want’ of wanting a part wrap with their logo and phone number on the vehicle, giving us a completely blank canvas with freedom to design anything. Sometimes these ones can be a nightmare strangely with customers turning out to be even more picky than those with stricter briefs, but this wasn’t the case with the Bell Lane Garage team with the designs getting approved first time around.
We wrapped 2 of their Corsa’s in a morning, with 2 installers, and we are set to complete another car for the team later in May!
NDA’s!
Like every month here at Team HG, there has been again more work in April that we can simply just not talk about. This month we have continued to help wrap the staging set of a huge band that is currently on tour around the UK, Europe and America.
This job has come with very short and tight deadlines, but as ever our team have gone above and beyond, working late nights and weekends to ensure we hit these deadlines. It sure is all worth it when we see the finished results. Being part of something so mega is always an achievement for us to be proud of.
Shelley Motors – KIA Showroom
Another month, another showroom refurb! KIA is a dealership we have worked for in the past (and will be again in the future), helping them with the implementation of their new brand guidelines.
On this occasion, we were at their Shelly Motors – Epsom Kia Dealership. Following a site survey, we transformed their exterior from its old and dated red scheme to a new sleek looking jet black.
The job entailed us removing the old signage, ensuring minimal damage to the cladding panels, before a full building clean and pressure wash with surface prep, which included holes filled, shaped and sanded to reduce the visibility of the old holes.
We then got on with the wrap itself which took a total of 2 weeks to complete with 3 installers working on the job.
Team HG! Move
As teased upon in the introduction and last months enews, we got the keys to our new premises, but my, it’s been a very, very busy month kitting the place out haha!
Our initial grand plan (famous last words) was for us to shut down for a week to help move into our new gaf, but unfortunately our work schedules just haven’t allowed us to do that. The juggling act between keeping our customers happy, keeping work flowing through and getting the new place ready has been such a huge challenge.
Big shout outs go to the team at this time, working non-stop and around the clock, with Gavin and Steve in particularly working till 1am some nights kitting out the new unit.
There may have been literally sweat, blood and tears involved in this move but by the time you have read this, we should been into he new place!!
The new location is: Unit 26 & 25, Dale Court, Ave Lodeve, South Kirkby, Pontefract WF9 3FL
Team News
As mentioned in the introduction, our team have had their own fun this month too despite everything that has been going on.
Our very own Lauren makes no secret about the fact that she absolutely loves her Rugby! April saw her and her friends go to the womens rugby final at Twickenham with Lauren dressed up as no other than Tiger King (only 3 years to the hype Lauren aha), even dressing her little one for the theme too. Lauren doesn’t just watch rugby, she plays too, and her team have just been crowned champions of the Allianz Inner Warrior League North (east) for the 22/23 season too. Massive congratulations Lauren from everyone at Team HG!
Owner Gavin celebrated his birthday in April. Unfortunately, we couldn’t celebrate the day with him as he was down the unit all day grafting for the big move. However, not all was lost, we still got him a princess cake that didn’t go to waste. Gav and Nat did have some downtime celebrating a couple of days in Manchester to go and see Kevin Hart, this was followed by a weekend out eating and drinking in Wakefield with Steve and Kyle.
The birthdays are coming thick and fast, and April also saw Laura have an early birthday getaway, spending the bank holiday weekend at a log cabin with her close friends. Laura was spoilt with Kate Bush tribute tickets as well and had an all-round great weekend!
That brings us to the end of this beast of an edition of our monthly enews.
We hope you once again enjoyed the read. Want to make sure you keep up-to-date with all things HG? Please don’t hesitate to get in touch by emailing us at info@hggraphics.co.uk and we’ll make sure you don’t miss out.
