Just like that, summer is officially over and we have entered the month of September. But not all is lost, a new month here at HG means looking back at the month before and that’s exactly what we are doing for August.
We always say here at Team HG! that no two days are ever the same and the month of August is a fantastic example of just that, with jobs for all kinds of sectors coming through, that have been great to get involved in!
The HG team have even won an award this month.. more on that later!
Without any further ado, let’s get into this month’s edition of the enews.
Ice Co
We’re kicking things off with returning customers to the HG ENews… Ice Co!
Ice Co are a company we know so well, completing many projects for the team over the years for various wrapping jobs on their trailers. This particular project was for their most recent marketing campaign, and this trailer was the 2nd for this campaign, with a 3rd trailer due to be done in the next couple of months too.
With the graphics already ready and provided by Ice Co, we just needed to set them up for print on the drops. Once this was completed, the job was done in no time with 2 installers completing the installation in just a morning’s work. Looking pretty cool!
Brigshaw High School
One of our favourite jobs yet!
This project for Brigshaw High School in West Yorkshire perfectly encapsulates the utilisation of architectural wrapping absolutely perfectly.
This job was a whopper in size (and is still ongoing, with one more reception to wrap), involving wrapping columns throughout the school, a cabinet and a reception desk. The installation itself was completed during the school holidays and after school hours to prevent disruption, aswell as looking after the health and safety of the pupils themselves.
In total, 130 metres of an architectural film wood grain was used, taking 2 of our installers 6 days to complete.
There is so much more we could say on the project, but we’ll just let the video below tell the full story.
Forever After
There isn’t a much better feeling than when you finish a job that makes you feel like you’ve made a real difference, and this job for Forever After is certainly one of those jobs.
The enquiry initially came from lovely customer Phil at Fresh Inc, where he phoned up looking for some guidance and help in opening up a new shop in Castleford, where window film and new signage were required.
The job was straight forward enough, we had got some rough measurements from Phil and he even supplied us with artwork. We put together some printed samples, with Phil and Donna (Donna and Phil, also owners of Forever After) even coming by our office to check the samples over in person and choose their required finish for the signage. We conducted a site survey prior to production, confirmed measurements and got this into production.
For the windows, contravision was printed which would give Forever After the aesthetic they wanted, whilst bringing privacy to the building as well as allowing light into the building. A matt finish was used on the signage, with acrylic cut gloss letter on stands off, bringing a nice contrast with the matt.
We turned this around quickly, from enquiry to production and down to install, the project only took 12 working business days, helping the shop get ready for the grand opening.
We even got some feedback from Forever After too: ‘’That you HG Graphics for an outstanding job and amazing customer service’’.
Stoneacre – Dewsbury / Harrogate / Liverpool
Here at Team HG! we make no bones about the fact we get involved in projects that require quick turnarounds all of the time, but even by our standards this job was a quick!
This particular job was for Stoneacres, and more specifically around the need for some temporary signage to advertise the dealership changing to Mazda Stoneacres. The three sites in question were; Harrogate, Dewsbury and Liverpool.
Across the project, our senior designer Laura worked closely with Stoneacres CI & Facilities Manager for the mock-ups and placements of each signs, which then rolled into creating 4m wide Hoarding Panels, Flat Panels to go on their showrooms and wrapping their totems, just until their main signage could go up once the refurbishment had took place.
With a big need for this refurb to come in a budget, we managed to pull this off by designing and producing in house, then installing on the 3 sites across 3 days.
T&A Maintenance
One of the great things about our new gaf (unit) is that we have some lovely neighbours at Dale Court, and one of them is T & A Maintenance.
Not only have they been very welcoming, this month we got the opportunity to work with the company too! The owners of T & A Maintenance dropped by after seeing our signage up to enquire about getting signage for their new place too. After a quick discussion with our designer, the guys sent across their brand guidelines and we worked up a design for 2 flat panel signs.
But the project didn’t stop there. The owners also expressed a want for some privacy on the rear back windows of their establishment, but with the added requirement of allowing light in and being able to see out. We advised on the options before the customer ended up selecting contravision.
Following the production and installation of both the new signage and window films, it’s safe to say the place is looking very smart.
Wilsons Carpets – Lincoln
The beauty of what we do here at Team HG is that we can offer a lot of different services that are very much complementary to each other and this job for Wilson Carpets encompasses that very point perfectly.
Repeat customers Wilson Carpets were in the process of opening their new store in Lincoln and required the HG team to come in and put the final touches to the premises.
The requirements for the job were:
- 4m wide flex face sign
- 2x 15m wide flat panel signs for the main signage front
- 4x set of window graphics
- 3x flat panel window infills
- 2x flat panel signs for the existing totems
- 1x banner
In terms of the artwork for the job, Wilson Carpets supplied this, it then just involved us then setting all the graphics up for print. Once all of this was printed and produced, it was installation time, which took 2 installers a full 3 days of graft.
Another job well done!
NDA Project
It wouldn’t be a monthly catch up without an NDA project, would it? But yes, the team have been working hard yet again this month on a staging project for a huge artist for an upcoming tour!
Team HG News
Team HG! win excellent supplier award for 2023!
That’s right, the month of August has seen HG’s very own Gavin and Laura being invited by TAIT to the ‘Supplier Appreciation 2023’ event at their Wakefield site. To the team’s astonishment, HG were presented with an ‘Excellent Supplier’ award for the HG Graphics arm of the business.
It’s no surprise that we are absolutely chuffed to bits to win this award and to be recognised by an organisation like this is such a big achievement for us. We have been working with Brilliant Stages (now TAIT) for over a decade, assisting in stage wrapping as well as creating graphics and prints for some of the biggest super stars in the world.
As I’m sure you all have accustomed to in our ENews pieces over the last 12 months, a lot of the work we do for TAIT is under NDA’s, so we can’t talk about them sadly. Despite this and the super-fast turnarounds that are required, we love the challenge and it’s always a pleasure to see your work up in lights.
Not only did we pick up the award, we were also shown around TAIT, getting the full behind the scenes experience. Tait also treated us to both goody bags and a meal in their restaurant.
Mega day 😊.
Conclusion
That brings us to the end of this beast of an edition of our monthly enews.
