Had a great festive period everyone? The new of year of 2023 is with us and that means only one thing here at Team HG… a new monthly enews!
Today, we’re looking back at the last month of 2022, December and giving you a brief lowdown on what’s been going on. In years gone by December has been a quieter month with the countdown to Christmas being officially on but not on this occasion. This December was another crazy month for the team.
A lot of the month of December has been devoted to the HG Surface brand, and it’s been great to see this brand go from strength to strength over recent months with some great projects documented in this project alone.
The secret project we keep mentioning in these updates has been completed which was a great win for everyone at HG. Although we can’t talk about it still just yet, we do promise that a case study will be coming very soon.
Without any further ado, let’s get into this month’s edition.
Familiar Faces
It might be the end of 2022 and the beginning of 2023 but repeat customers who we have a great working relationship with is something that doesn’t change here at Team HG, nor is it something we ever want to change either! Our customers are everything to us and we really do strive to keep this as part of our DNA as a business.
Sky Pods – Quad Pod Plus
Sky Pods are once again back in the monthly enews, and we absolutely love it! Ever since we did our initial project with these guys in conjunction with 3M, the relationship has gone from strength to strength.
The contrast in images below really do tell the story for this particular pod refurb, the perfect utilisation of Architectural Film to transform a battered and bruised exterior to a clean, new looking pod ready to go. 27 metres of a blue matt metallic wrap was used on this pod, installed in just one day.
Ice Co Storage and logistics
Perhaps the most regular entrants to the monthly enews thus far, the local to us Ice Co Storage and Logistics company are back once again, and we are certainly not complaining about it.
The HG team have been wrapping more trailers for Ice Co, and on this occasion another 2 full trailers were wrapped across 2 days with 2 installers working on the job.
We look forward to seeing Ice Co appear in many more monthly updates, and between me and you, they might even appear once more in this month’s edition.
Pontefract Doors Fiesta
This job was for another local business that we initially dealt with back in 2021.
In fact, it was one of the first jobs Creative Design Manager Laura worked on back in April 2021. Back then, the customer came to us requiring a bespoke design and part wrap for their Long Wheelbase VW Crafter. After a positive first experience, the customer had reached out to us again since to wrap their second company vehicle, a Ford Fiesta (between the two projects we have also completed some signage for Pontefract Doors).
This particular job just took one day with 2 of our installers completing the install.
Trade Parts Xpress Vans
This project for Doncaster based Trade Parts Xpress Vans was our very last job of 2022.
Trade Parts Xpress required 6 of their vehicles to be wrapped in their branding and sought out HG to complete this project for them. The vehicles varied in wheelbases and roofs, with 2 Renault masters wrapped, as well as Renault traffic vehicles.
We must say the vans are now looking super smart and the feedback we got from the client was great too.
Finishing the year like this with a customer very happy with the results is so rewarding and is a feeling we really don’t get tired of getting.
Tek Contracts – Hollands Opticians
Architectural Wrapping provides the answer for Malvern opticians.
This has to be one of our favourite projects this month. When the opticians came to us wanting to refurbish their very, very dated interior of their premises, we had the perfect solution for them… Architectural Film.
The optician’s objective was fairly simple, they wanted their red timber interior aesthetic to be overhauled with a realistic wood grain finish and the HG team were more than happy to oblige.
In just 1 day, and with just 2 men and 50 metres worth of material, the HG Surface team transformed this interior from dated to modernised in a flash. With no mess, noise or disruption to the business, the refurbishment was so ideal for the opticians from both an aesthetical and business point of view.
We love the transformation images for this one!
Other Jobs
We’ve been that stowed out this month, we can’t get all of this month’s projects into this enews, as you would be here all day reading this article!
But we do want to touch upon them.
Honourable mentions of other work we have been working on are; the involvement of producing mesh banners for our neighbours Ice Co, Signwriting on Jay Mobile Auto Services, as well as producing 34 sponsorship boards for Just Football and sending out decals for a few repair jobs.
What’s the team been up to?
Despite this being another jam packed one for the HG Team, the team did manage to get into the festive spirit. First up, HQ was decorated appropriately in December with Nat, Steve and Laura doing a fantastic job of getting the place in the festive mood!
We did miss our Xmas jumper day sadly, with our workbook so busy, most of the team have been offsite on various projects meaning we didn’t get to do this. Something we will make sure doesn’t happen next year! Not all was lost though, as the HG team did have their Christmas night out where they completed an Xscape room in Castleford before having some lovely food and drinks at TGI’s.
2022 Recap
With the end of 2022 been and gone, it feels right that we take a little bit of a look back at the last 12 months, and it’s safe to say that we look back on the year of 2022 with so much pleasure!
I know it’s very easy to say but the last 12 months has definitely been our best one yet as a business, as we have continued to go from strength to strength. Although clear from our monthly enews, here at HG we get involved in a wide range of projects, which is great, when we sit back and think of this last year, building wraps immediately springs to mind in this calendar year, and we’ve got involved in more and more of these large-scale projects as the year has gone on which has transformed our business. We really aren’t scared of the cold here at Team HG, aha!
Aside from actual jobs for customers, the year kicked off with us completing two big website projects for both HG Surface (brand new website) and HG Graphics (website revamp) which have helped us immensely from a digital perspective. Talking of HG Surface and HG Graphics, we also made the big decision to rename our business to ‘Team HG’, allowing the surface and graphics brands to sit nicely under an umbrella company name, a decision that is further explained in our blog here.
We have expanded our team too! We took on a new apprentice, Harvey, who is the nephew of Natalie and Stephen. We’re currently showing him the ropes, both on the computer setting up prints to bench work, as well as weeding, applying print panels, and using the plotter. He’s doing great!
As we look ahead to 2023, we really do have a lot to look forward to. We’ve got our fingers and toes crossed for our lonnnnnnng awaited move into our bigger new build custom unit, which will allow us to take on a large array of projects and get more equipment to ultimately allow us to provide an even better service than ever before.
There we have it, that wraps up our very first monthly enews of 2023 (or last of 2022, depending on how you look at it). We can promise you that there will plenty more to come in 2023 with so many exciting projects lined up. We’re extremely excited to see what’s to come in 2023, and we hope you are too!
