Welcome back to our monthly enews blog here at Team HG. The month of March is synonymous for being the end of the financial year for companies up and down the UK, and a month that is usually flat out busy, and that’s definitely been the case for us!
As touched upon, this month has been a crazily busy month (even more so than normal), but also a really exciting one, and one that will go down in the history of the company, with some unique projects completed, as well as a momentous day arriving for us at HG.
Let’s get into it….
Team HG go abroad!
That’s right, you heard that correctly, we’ve left the UK to complete a project.
Following the completion of a UK wide rollout on a project we completed (that we can’t tell you the name of just yet), our client was really impressed by both the quality of the work we did and the workmanship our team produced, as a result, we were then requested to head over to Belgium to work on a rollout there.
As we say, we can’t say too much about the project just yet but what we can say is that Gavin and Kyle headed over to Belgium for the job, driving a whopping 780 miles via the euro tunnel, and completing the job within a day. Due to the manic workload back at HQ, the pair travelled straight back, unfortunately not being able to take in the great sights and experiences Belgium has to offer.
Keep your eyes peeled for more on this project as we hope to be able to bring you a full write up soon!
Jaybee Motors
The month of march has seen the HG Surface team back doing what they love so much…. cladding wrapping!!!
Jaybee Motors in Banbury reached out to the HG team requiring their exterior cladding and window frames to be refurbishment. Following a brief consultation, it was agreed that a 3M film would be used to wrap the existing cladding, with a grey solid colour finish utilised to give the window frames a new look and feel.
As always with cladding wrap refurbishments, preparation was key, with all the cladding being cleaned, as well as holes being filled and sanded where necessary before the wrapping took place. As for the application itself, in total, 100 metres of wrap was used to complete this project, with 3 installers working on the job for 13 days.
Not only were the overall results everything our client hoped for and more, but the simplicity in the application process was also a massive plus, given the minimal impact it had on the running of the business during the process. The showroom was able to remain open throughout the whole install too, with only sections of the building being temporarily cornered off when appropriate.
Another great cladding wrap project in the bag.
DBL Transport
See the company name DBL and think you’ve seen it before?
You would be right! This isn’t the first time DBL have featured in our monthly enews, featuring back in November’s edition where we branded up 2 of their brand-new Merc Tractor Units. Now the Pontefract based company were back for more.
On this occasion, they had 2 new MAN tractor units that they wanted branding up, and we were more than happy to oblige. There was a slight difference in design for this job compared to last time to suit the curves on these particular vehicles.
The overall results are looking really smart, and we can’t wait to work with DBL again in the future.
Tech LED
Let’s talk about another vehicle branding job for a company that we have completed vehicle branding work for before.
This job is one we did for Tech LED UK, a company that was formed in 2011 and are actually situated in the same business park as us, for now anyway (more on that later).
In the past, we completed the vehicle branding for 2 VW Caddy’s where on this occasion we worked on a VW transporter. The design for this one was different compared to last time, which we laid up the artwork for, before printing and wrapping the vehicle itself.
We managed to complete this one in just a morning’s work, and it was great to see how chuffed the customer was with the finished result.
Xentek Motorsport
This one is easily one of our favourites and certainly coolest projects completed in March.
Once again, this involved a project with a repeat customer in Xentek, a client who we have wrapped 2 ginetta cars in the past along with printing their sponsor decals.
To say this was a simplistic job would however be a fabrication. Outlined at the start of this job was a superfast turnaround which is nothing new to us here at Team HG, and in fairness, is often the case in motorsport.
The deadline required was 4 days for the vehicle to be wrapped which was manageable, but the artwork from the customer arrived to us late, along with the vehicle on the day of delivery, which really put a lot of pressure and stress onto the team with designer and fitters working overtime to ensure the job was done.
Another problem we encountered was that when we received the artwork, it still needed tweaking for the wrap to work, so some thinking time was needed to get this set up appropriately. Nevertheless, we managed to get this one done, and the pictures really do show how great the vehicle is looking now.
Our New Home
Now it’s time for the news we have been wating to share for so long now… we have finally got keys to our brand-new home!!!!
After a very long wait, in the main thanks to the global pandemic pushing back the building works, we have got the keys to our 2 brand new units that will give us a 2,762 SQF of space. We really cannot wait to move in properly, with the new and improved floor space providing the opportunity for us to fit bigger and more vehicles inside at once.
As many of you know, due to the growth of the company, we have massively overgrown the current unit, which we have called home to Team HG! since 2015 and although we can’t wait to move, we will be sad to leave.
In the very, very short term though, we are staying put for now. As we speak, we are just in the middle of kitting out the new place, building our mezzanine, as well as everything else with what comes with a big move like this. This has involved a lot of overtime and late nights by our guys, with poor Gav and Steve working till 1am some nights, but it will be worth it in the end, as we have some great plans for the new gaf!
We’re aiming to be in by mid may but keep your eyes on our socials for an official announcement.
Other News
As always in our monthly updates, there isn’t enough time to talk about everything that’s been going on and this month is no different in that regard.
J Middleton & Sons
Regular customers to HG Graphics and no doubt regular appearances in the monthly enews in the future, J Middleton & Sons are a company the HG team have serviced this month.
Over the years, we have really lost count on how many vans we’ve branded for these guys as their fleet continues to grow and grow.
For this job, we completed the wrap on a brand new Berlingo Van and 2 Luton Vans. We love it when our clients want vibrant colours and it’s safe to say that this is just that, with the signature orange looking great and certainly won’t be missed on the roads.
Weedfree Limited
Weedfree Limited are another returning customer that came to us to brand up their tipper, to match the previous wrap and design we had created for them.
With the designs already ready and our experienced team on hand for the application, this job was completed in a flash and the vehicle was back with the customer, ready to go.
Shhhhhh Secret
This month we have also worked on the staging setting for two huge artists, which is something we have done before, and we love getting involved in.
Unfortunately, though, like many of these types of jobs we do, we are on a strict NDA for these projects and can’t go into any kind of detail regarding them.
I know you’re probably thinking that we’re doing it on purpose, but hand on our hearts… we’re really not. If we could talk about these jobs, we really would love to.
This brings us to the close of yet another ENews piece.
We hope you have once again enjoyed the read. If you want to keep up with all things HG, please don’t hesitate to get in touch by emailing us at hello@teamhg.co.uk and we’ll make sure you don’t miss a thing.
