The month of May sees the Team HG monthly enews hit double figures of editions! Time really does fly, and it’s been great to see the feedback we have received on the editions so far. Although these do take time to put together, we feel its important to be as transparent as possible with our customer base, keeping you up to date with all things HG.
May was the month we officially moved into our new place and saw us do our last job in our old unit, as well as our first one in our new unit too, which was a strange feeling to say the least (more on that later)! With lots of other big jobs coming through, it was definitely a month to remember.
Without any further delay, let’s take a deeper dive into what the team have been up to.
Pendragon – Stratstone BYD
Showroom refurbishments are something we don’t get tired of showcasing, and over the last few years, has definitely become our jam on the HG Surface side of our business. This job completed in May for Pendragon is yet more evidence of that.
Like many of the projects we get involved in, the deadlines were ever so tight on this one for Pendragon BYD Birmingham, as the big opening day launch for their new showroom was just about upon us.
As always, we started things of by conducting a site survey and customer presentation, demonstrating our project management skills to the client, giving them a greater understanding of how the process would go.
For the opening of the showroom, the front tower was the priority. We wrapped the front tower of the building in an anthracite grey, which took 3 installers 2 days, using just over 52 metres of vinyl. The application was completed in time for the grand opening, underlining the minimal downtime this method of refurbishing brings vs more traditional methods which simply could not have met this pressing deadline.
The HG team then returned a few weeks later to finish the building off where we wrapped the side elevation in an anthracite grey and the window frames in a cool grey. A job well done.
Stoneacre – Totem Wrap
The HG Team made the short trip in May to Stoneacre in Harrogate to complete a Totem wrap.
Stoneacre were in an in between phase where the dealership had changed from a Peugeot to a Ford and required a short-term fix to their signage prior to the implementation of the new signage, and as a result turned to the HG team to bring a temporary solution to the in-situ signage.
In just a morning’s work, 2 of our team wrapped the totem, as well as printing and applying the ford logo onto the totem.
Crazy Co – Bears on Tour
Team HG helped catering trailer brand up for Warwickshire county one day matches.
Casting our minds back to last year, we worked with rewired PR for a special marketing event for the Birmingham Bears cricket team, which involved branding up one of our long-time customers ‘Crazy Co’ catering trailor.
Well, Rewired returned to HG again to use us to brand it up again. We worked with Rewired to get the measurements of the trailer, before our designer set the artwork all up for print ready for install.
The catering trailer just took a morning install, using temporary, removeable vinyl for when the graphics were to come off after the tour. Another happy customer!
Alan – Camper Van (Our last job in Unit 8b!)
The last job in Unit 8b! That’s right, end user Alan was the very last job we did at the old unit.
A lovely customer to work with from the get go, Alan came to us wanting the HG team to create some graphics on his newly converted camper van and gave our design guru Laura full reign on the design, which she was buzzing with.
Following an initial conversation, Laura got to work on the design, and after only one amend, Alan signed off the visual and we got to work on the install.
As the intro to this job suggests, it came at a very busy period for us, juggling jobs along with our big move. We got Alan in on our last working day in our now old unit where Kyle was installing the wrap whilst the rest of the team was boxing up and moving.
Alan was over the moon when he came to pick his van up, leaving a glowing review: ‘’What a fantastic job HG Graphics have done. Helping me change the look of a works van into a campervan. Thank you Team HG!, I love it.’’ He even asked for us to take a picture of him with the newly wrapped van.
Duftons Plumbing & Heating (Our first job in Unit 25/26!)
From Alan and his camper van being our very last job in unit 8b to Duftons Plumbing & Heating, who we completed our very first job in the new unit for!
It feels right that Dufton’s were the first job we did in the new unit as we have completed so many job for these guys, losing count on how many times they have appeared in the enews let alone projects we have completed for them in total.
On this occasion, we wrapped 2 of their Luton Vans, in the exact same artwork as we have done previously. Big shout out goes to Duftons Marketing Manager, Melanie, who always makes the process of dealing with the company so easy, from sorting out artwork to logistics and getting the vans booked in with us, they are a great, loyal customers who just make the process so smooth.
It was ace to use the new space for the first time, with so much room in our new premises to work around.
Our Move In Day!
We are in! Yes, that’s right, we are finally moved completely into our unit and we absolutely love it!
We can’t lie, it’s been a tough old slog over the last couple of months. The team (mainly Gavin and Steve) have been working many LONGGGG hours on this, working till 2-3am most nights to get the place kitted out, with some of the team even volunteering their bank holiday to get the move finished in time.
All the hard work has definitely being worth it as we are delighted with our new unit, with this place being far more brighter, bigger and modern. We’ve already wrapped all our doors using 3M DI-NOC, and it looks banging!

3M GOLD Select Graphic Provider
We are delighted to announce that we have been granted our 3M GOLD Select Graphic Provider, signifying a great milestone in the history of Team HG!.
At HG, we have always prided ourselves on using the best products and delivering the best service. This accreditation does this and more, ultimately giving our customers that extra peace of mind that in using us, the highest quality of results will be achieved.
We’ve been working so hard to get this accreditation for a long time now and it feels amazing to have finally gone from Silver to Gold. It really is a moment where you sit back and reflect on how far we’ve come in the last decade.
Team News
It’s been birthday’s galore at the business this month with young Blaine leaving his teens and turning 20, with Laura celebrating her 32nd birthday too!
We couldn’t celebrate with Blaine on his birthday as the lad treat himself and booked the day off. He did inform us that he had a great birthday, enjoying a few beers with his mates, visiting what he likes to call ‘church’ (AKA spoons!) haha.
We’ve all been very jealous of Laura on how she celebrated turning 32 as she whisked herself away for 2 weeks in the sun in Cancun, Mexico. Laura had an amazing time, ‘eating her bodyweight in tacos’ (yes, that is a direct quote), however, she did unfortunately forget it was a bank holiday on her return and didn’t book an extra day off, meaning her first day back was her birthday. Not all was lost though, as the team had got her a cute birthday cake which they enjoyed alongside the cupcakes Laura’s partner Zoe had made the team.
That is not all, the HG team have made the crazy decision to do the Yorkshire 3 peaks on the 17th June? Why are you doing that, you ask? We haven’t a clue, but it should be great fun even if we are shattered by the end!
